What is journalism?

Journalism is the constantly changing art of covering the news. It's about asking questions, getting answers and relaying that message to the people. Today, journalism seems to also be about learning to carry all the skills necessary to keep up with the constant thirst for information.

With rising costs of print journalism, a higher demand for news to be delivered quickly and the increase in people looking to break into the industry, it has become crucial for journalists to do more than just write. The journalists who survive this business are the ones who can report, write, shoot video, take pictures, blog and create podcasts all in a short amount of time.

Essentially, journalists need to be versatile in doing whatever their boss asks of them and deliver it quickly while remaining accurate. Sometimes, it even involves having an opinion or contributing analysis along side the report.
