Who is Scott Brodeur?

Scott Brodeur, 43, is a teacher at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. He teaches online journalism and lives in Northampton, Mass.

He graduated from Syracuse University in 1987 in magazine journalism and American studies. Brodeur received his Master's from New York University in English Education. Brodeur quickly moved up the ranks and had his first editing job in Sept. 1991 where he was the senior editor for Scholastic Coporation.

Brodeur moved from that job to the online world, where he founded NJ.com in the August of 1994. He worked there for a little over three years and became the Editor-in-Chief for masslive.com.

Brodeur had the job for eight years before moving to his current job as the Managing Editor at Advance Internet. However, he still writes for masslive.com and has a blog named "Blog Beat."

The teacher from Western Massachusetts blogs on a wide range of topics such as music, sports and other events from pop culture. Brodeur has experience writing for the Philadelphia Enquirer, The Source, Billboard, Guitar World and No Depression.

In addition to writing about music, Brodeur sings and plays guitar for a Western Massachusetts band named Storybox.

There is a possibility that Brodeur wrote a book called "Holy Spirit's Agency in the Resurrection of the Dead: An Exegetico-Theological Study of 1 Cor 15:44b-49 and Romans 8:9-13," however Brodeur could not be reached for comment at the time this blog was published.

Brodeur utilizes a Facebook account to keep in touch with former students and allow his online journalism students to get access learn about his career and education.
